Feb 08, 2010 - 7:56 PM - by Wyody | So, this Sperm Whale washed up on the beach at Port Aransas - about 7 miles and a short ferry-hop from here. Dead I think - definitely wasn't living in the TV shots.
I didn't know they even had whales in The Gulf! Shucks, I didn't even know they had whales in the Atlantic this far south.
I hear another washed up a few years back.
Good thing I wasn't asea at the time ... altho some might say I'm asea all the time.

I love winter, love snow, but we had a warm spell in January and ever since I've been daydreaming of spring, and of going camping & hiking. Unfortunatly, we have a Jeep that is as old as I am and it's terrible on mountain roads, therefore our hiking and camping areas are limited. Last year we went up the highway and turned off on Black Mountain Road... it turrned out to be a pretty miserable trip. Been a gas plant explosion. Breaking news.
(CNN) -- At least two people were killed Sunday in an explosion at a Connecticut power plant, police said.
Two people have been confirmed dead, said Middletown, Connecticut, police Sgt. Chuck Jacobucci, but authorities expect the number to rise since they are still searching for people.

The blizzard that has paralyzed the middle Atlantic is a non-event here.
Cloudy and very cold today 20 degrees- but not a flurry of snow.
Cool- they can have it!!!
