I would be honored to move there though and help rebuild a city devistated by Katrina. Be apart of the positive change taking place there. It maybe the new start I need in my life, and its something I know. I am just unsure where my heart and head want to lead me..
Panterro, I did a little research on Biloxi/Gulfport area and it looks as though Mississippi is recovering at a much more rapid pace than Louisiana. One of the things I would definitely check out is the housing available. If you would be renting, there were a few 1-bdrm apartments around $550-700. I don't know your situation, so you might prefer a 2-bdrm or even a house. Sperlings Best Places can give you quite a bit of info regarding cost of living, education, etc.

I don't know how concerned you would be about this, but the Gulfport area has a very high crime rate. On a scale of 1 to 10, I believe the violent crimes were a 7 (nat'l avg was 3) and the non-violent crimes were an 8. (if I remember correctly)

From your posts, it sounds as though you've lived around the gulf coast previously, and in that case, you're probably aware of the fact that it's extremely humid. If you need information, please let me know...before we moved to Baton Rouge, all I did was research on the area!
