This meant taking myself and a few-man crew and climbing wet, gray, shaley granite in the rain ... pulling out yards of copper cap-wire, hooking up to 160 pounds of dynamite, blasting it by radio-signal in a lightning storm - while sitting about 25 feet away from the dynamite.
I said "Sure, just a minute", went and got my then-ladyfriend out of the office, took her, went and loaded the truck, drove from Utah to Lake Superior, rented a cabin on the lake (Silver Bay) and stayed for two weeks walking the beaches and forests of NE Minnesota.
Two days after I left, the pilot crashed the chopper - killing one and maiming a few. I would have been on that chopper - it crashed on Mollie's Nipple - a peak in DiamondFork canyon |
Yikes...remind me to come to you when I need help with a decision

Seriously, that's scary...makes one realize how short life can be.
I lived in Duluth for about two years right out of high school. Silver Bay and the north shore are so beautiful and romantic.
