My Training route was from Phoenix Az to Pueblo, CO. that would be my primary route once training was over, but they changed it to Larado Tx and back, so I could be home more often. Then they started deverting me all over the place and I would be out 6 weeks and only get 3-4 days home. So I left Swift and did the local thing until DOT shut them down.. why im not sure. Was good money though, and I did get to see some great country, and then again some not so great too. but you take the good with the bad. The local thing was drop and hook all day long, pick up at the rail yard and drop to local businesses. pick up the empty and drop at a yard for a company driver to pick up.
Still have my Class A with all the endorsements.. except Hazmat, no need for it unless I start to drive again. Besides its 80 bucks for that endorsement alone... part of the homeland security requirements.
As for Wendy's question...
Humm Im not sure.. this does sound like me..
ESTPs generally have the following traits:
* Action-oriented
* Live in the present moment
* Dislike abstract theory without practical application
* Like to see immediate results for their efforts
* Fast-paced and energetic
* Flexible and adaptable
* Resourceful
* Seldom work from a plan - make things up as they go
* Fun to be around
* Highly observant
* Excellent memory for details
* Excellent people skills
* Good-natured
* Excellent ability to see an immediate problem and quickly devise a solution
* Attracted to adventure and risk
* May be flashy or showy
* Like initiating things - not necessarily following them through to completion
But the last one not so much.. I get great satisfaction in a job well done. I can also over plan somthing.. try to pre-think all the problems that may arise and be prepaired for them. Like this move.. I have tried to plan out every detail so as to make it as smooth as I can for my family, and to assure success.
I do tend to rely on my own senses.. over someone elses facts or figures.
Oh and by the way thanks for those links, I find them interresting..
And the next link I was reading this does in fact sound like me..
The ESTP often has trouble in school, especially higher education which moves into realms where theory is more important. The ESTP gets bored with classes in which they feel they gain no useful material which can be used to get things done. The ESTP may be brilliantly intelligent, but school will be a difficult chore for them.
The ESTP needs to keep moving, and so does well in careers where he or she is not restricted or confined. ESTPs make extremely good salespersons. They will become stifled and unhappy dealing with routine chores. ESTPs have a natural abundance of energy and enthusiasm, which makes them natural entrepreneurs. They get very excited about things, and have the ability to motivate others to excitement and action. The can sell anyone on any idea. They are action-oriented, and make decisions quickly. All-in-all, they have extraordinary talents for getting things started.
They are not usually so good at following through, and might leave those tasks to others.
Again I sometimes dont finish stuff.. but most of the time I do.. I like to see the finished product or project.. I get a good feeling froma job well done.
