I was just wondering through but 1 of the locals talked me into a small hike.

Turned into a rock climb, with 12 others. Don't befriend the locals at the bar it has bad effects. She was nice though.

lol Anyway Aside from the "Small Hike" I remember a descent size lake just north of town maybe 15 miles GREAT trout fishing. It is in a state park. I think the Park is Steamboat Springs state park as well. Don't Quote that, as I am not sure of the name of it. Anyway Everywhere there seemed to be things to do. It was about May or June when I was there. The Big Ski lifts with the house on a wire thing, where up and running even though there was no Snow. Tourist paid big bucks to see the View I guess.

Rode alot of horses too. But the local had 15 of them. She rented them out for trail rides. They Had A mineral spring there too. Maybe more but I know they had 1 for sure. Mainly I Hiked/Rock climbed,

Fished, And Rode the trails with My short time friend.

But there was alot to do. She kind of steered me away from "tourist traps". Think She just wanted me longer. LOL Anyway I am sure if you hit Steamboat Springs in a search engine it would have a more recent list of things to do in summer. My time there was 11 years ago.

And I am sure it has changed. But hey if you go there and end up on Elk River Rd, and you should. But if while there you see a red head in her early 30's On A horse ,tell her Grinner says HI.
