Valley fever is a fungus type thing that is airborn and settles in your lungs. I had it when I first moved there and it was not a good thing.

My husband actually has a beautiful garden here believe it or not. He grows gorgeous roses and all kinds of plants. We have lived in parts of the Valley where we couldn't grow a darn thing. I think the ground was poisoned from something.
