Izzy | It's an old nickname I got in the first grade - and it lasted a couple of decades or so. It was actually more of a reference to a Coon 'Hound' - which sounds like the black & tan YR mentions.
I think I got that nickname because I run far, I run often - and I look my absolute best flattened against the chrome grill of a big ol' Mac Truck at 65 mph - complete with lolloping tongue. Arrrr - Oooooohawabawabawaba
