| Re: Goodbye Florida I don't personally think that there are any similarities between Texas and Florida whatsoever ... except that some parts are flat and if you work at it, you can find water. Texas is Texas. They think they're the West. I don't know what that would make those of us out here west of Texas ... in the real West. However, I'm more clued in on areas south of Jacksonville ... and Tampa .... and Orlando ... and Lauderdale ... and Miami.
From the mention of the last two areas you've tried, it sounds like you need a Michigan that's just a little farther south. You mentioned the "Big City" thing - although you called OKC a big city and I wouldn't go quite 100% that far but it sounds like you need a metropolitan base. You've ruled out the south - but must still want heat - with relief.
I'm thinking Sacramento in the west; Indianapolis in the east. Grand Rapids in the north (MI) and Cedar Rapids if you're up for a shot-in-the-dark.
I know most of those aren't quite metropolitan ... but you already know a lot about those metropolitan places, I'll bet.
(pssssst ... never rule out Owensboro, Y'all)
