At the very least, this is taking energy away from the purpose of this board. Do you realize that yesterday while all the shouting was going on about race and mixing paint colors et. al. that not one new thread was added to the states forums?
We are all getting way too caught up in defending our point and trying to battle others with a different point of view. Our posts per day are 1/2 of what they were a week ago, and this is not helping.
I have no problem with good debate. I love it. It's just hard to remember when to quit and get on to other more important topics, like making this place a fun place for people to be a member of. Believe me, the last two days has not been fun, and I have at times dreaded signing on and reading some of what I have read.
Battle on, but for me, you can find me in the states forums asking and answering questions with no barbs or comebacks.... well except for the markablue comments... but that's fair.... isn't it?
