Rocks can be a real bummer . Instead of fencing you could stake a animal an move it around when they eat it off . up keep is not that much of a problem . for fertilizer I get one of them field spreaders from the mill an when I do the field I do the yard . when I spray weeds I got a 16 gal sprayer for my four wheeler 2 to 3 times a year takes of the weeds in yard. When I come home from work I’ll do either the front or back yard an the other the next day. During the summer when it’s hot I mow every 2 weeks or so .
With the tractor I have it takes me 3 hrs to work the field before planting an another 3,4 hrs to plant . I have the mill come out an spray, not counting spray 150.00 . cheaper than owning the equipment. The center pivot is automatic I just start it up set the speed an stop it 36 hrs later. this year I have rye in but mostly I grow corn an soybeans .my two kids are old enough to help 20 an 22 but they have there things going on. Besides it’s not work if you like doing it . though mowing lawn can get a little old. The farming is like my big garden. Just different flowers then most .
