I'm trying to photograph stuff like mad while I'm still here in Anchorage, and when admin gets the photo albums up and running and I've settled in in Texas I'll post a bunch online. Any requests for what I should photograph/what you'd like to see/etc.? Sadly I didn't get many fall pictures because I didn't know I needed a card reader to transfer the pics, so the camera got full and I didn't want to put them on the computer because it was such a pain in the butt saving them on the computer through the camera. Then I didn't get many winter pictures because the camera doesn't work when it's below freezing outside. But now that it's warm and I have the card reader I've been taking tons of pics. Did you know that when you take pictures of 50 different alleyways in the same neighborhood at the same time of day/year from the same angle, they all look pretty much the same? So, any requests? All ideas welcome, either for specific photos or a series of photos. Also, what kind of info do you want about these things/places to go with the pics? I'm sure I could bring a notebook and jot stuff down. Right now, in addition to everything else, I'm taking pictures of street signs because otherwise I can't remember exactly where I was when I took a shot. Nothing is too lame for me to photograph! I have over a dozen pictures of moose poop! (although I do take good pictures, too) I won't be able to do fall/winter, but you can ask anyway, I might have something from a few years back when I used my film camera. Or maybe if I pop into Alaska again during the winter someday (ha ha) I can churn out something then. I love taking pictures, I've already done a few gigs, like four or five. I swear, I can take 100/hour or more easy. Got some shots from on top of a parking garage, has a little bit different angle of the city than when I'm down on the ground. I'm gonna hit some other parking garages, and am planning on doing the airport sometime, too. Well, it's definitely spring up here. Some of the grass has gone from brown to green, we've had leaf buds forming in the trees for days, maybe a week or two, and we've had a good number of 50 and 60 degree days lately. It even got up to 65 once. Today it's a little cooler, about 50 or so, was around 42 this morning. Heck, there's hardly any snow left. Just a couple chunks here and there for decoration, maybe a pile or two where it was all lumped together when they cleared the streets. I've also seen geese and seagulls around here lately. -admin, how many pics/megs, max, of Anchorage/per city (I might get some good shots when I go to Texas, too) would you want from me? And what would be the ideal resolution/file size per pic?

i haven't been to Alaska. it would be nice if you can take shots of the popular places to visit there.

I'd love to see pics of Anchorage. I went through there a few years back and never really got to see anything. I was on a military transport headed for the sand pit. We landed, refueled, and took off. We were allowed to deplane for about 20 minutes but I didn't. It was 2am. What're you going to see? I did step off into the airport and saw this "HUGE" bear standing there. Stuffed. I have 3 grand daughters that live about 30 minutes from Anchorage and I'm sorry to say that I've never seen that part of the country. They come down here to Wyoming as soon as school gets out and stay for the summer. They talk about how beautiful it is there. I should hike my butt up there and see it first hand.
