Fun place to visit in Scottsdale

If you happen to be in the Scottsdale area, I would definitely recommend having a Sunday brunch at Sugar Daddy's! If I remember correctly, it's been the top rated brunch place in the Phoenix area for the last few years and now I know why. The food was terrific...an inexpensive buffet with absolutely all breakfast items and the atmosphere was so unique.

They usually have bands or acoustic music (excellent) and the building itself is worth seeing. There is a huge patio area outside with probably seating for over 100 people. Pets were also welcome and very well behaved.

If I didn't LOVE Navarre so much, I would consider moving to this area. I'm not sure they even knew what humidity was.

Scottsdale is nice but hot in the summer and very expensive. Very similar to where I lived in So Ca temp and terrain wise. I think there is something about having to be able to play golf as a rule to live there

Expensive, definitely! I feel the same way about Vegas...nice to visit but probably wouldn't want to call it home. Scottsdale's atmosphere actually reminded me of Austin a little bit.

I love to golf but my hubby keeps getting irritated with me because I don't want to keep score. It's not a stress-reliever for me, though...I have to keep fishing in the ponds for the clubs that I've thrown on purpose due to frustration.

Sugar Daddy's on Scottsdale Rd? Brunch? I think they got shut down for something, money laundering or something to that effect. I didn't know they had brunch there. I was there once on a Friday it was a place where young superficial people go and try to pick people up.

Okay...keeping in mind that I'm not from the area...we were invited there for a Sunday brunch and the food was excellent. (My hubby's brother's new wife who is 35 and wants to be 21 suggested it) Maybe it was closed and re-opened, again? It did look as though it would be much more of a younger, hipper and possibly superficial crowd in the evening. We didn't stay past early afternoon...had to get back on the road. I was most impressed with the patio connected to the back and the mellow guitar music...the singer played a lot of my favorites. Everything from Sublime, Eagles, Stevie Ray Vaughn, America, Rob Thomas, etc.

This place reminded me of the types of places in Austin, Texas, except that there was much more of a variety of age differential.

Goos brunch? Was that intentional? You know...have some brunch, get a goose at your friendly meat market?

That's what I figured, but sometimes I'm a little naive. Just had to make sure.
