I do think that you're looking in the wrong direction sunshine. When your head clears take a look at the map. Failing that find someone with a nice comfy couch and tell him/her all about it.

Want to know how it will be like? Drive to Palmdale or Lancaster. Its just that the nearest ocean will be 10 hours a way. Lots of sand and cactus! No waves!

Your best bet will be the Colorado River. But that flows through Southern Nevada and Lake Havasu.

Other than that all you'll have are swimming pools.

Look at a map.
