Phoenix, Arizona the 5th Largest City

Phoenix, Arizona is the 5th largest city. Because there is hardly any buildings and most people live in single family dwellings it does not have that big city feel. Arizona just became this big city in the last 10 years and because of that everything is relatively new. Phoenix, Arizona has a thing for flare from there houses to the department stores being all nicely designed to catch the eye. Even there freeways are nicely landscaped. Phoenix, Arizona has a lot to offer to those that like to live around people but yet have your own space. Oh, and if you like gulf there is one within a two mile radius of you where ever you choose to live.

Remember that city limits don't mean a whole lot any more. I hardly think that Boston is really a city of only 589,000 (it's really 3 million plus). A city limit is just a political boundary. Has little to do with where people live.

Phoenix is still a big city though. I think they are getting close to 4 million now in the metro area.

Which brings up another point: Why do these stupid news shows say things like "St. Louis is the most dangerous city in America"??? Well, like I said, a city limit is just a political boundary. Can we help it if St. Louis is now just the inner city part of the entire metro area? If you draw any boundary the way you want it, i.e. to fit your story, then clearly you are going to get some attention. If you want to compare apples to oranges, then compare the inner cities for St. Louis, New York, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Detroit, Phoenix, etc. WE AREN'T DOING FAIR COMPARISONS!!!

Let's put things in perspective...

Its funny you said that because when I left NY 18 years ago to AZ they where saying AZ had the highest crime. So I was sitting in my back yard with my brother in law and his family when it came to me that the reason AZ was saying this must be because they actually find the bodies here.

Did they count the people while the Snow Birds were there, or were the Snow Birds not there? Makes a big difference of about 1,000,000 people.

"Is Arizona your primary residence? If so, how many months do you reside here per year? What other states do you live in?"
