School President is the best

Tom Horne Phoenix school President has been all over the news. He is instituting that all kids starting a 7th grade pick a career goal. The school will then direct them on there way toward there goal. Now we all know that there goal may change through out the years but the school will be part of that change. I think this is a great idea!!!

Re: School President is the best

This is basically what they do in Washington with the goal to get kids ready for the workforce. The only problem I have is that kids change their mind. My daughter is in college and most of the students there change their major after the first year.

Also, there are so many jobs out there, it's hard to focus kids on something other than police, fire, medical, serial killer. You all the cool sounding jobs.

For example, who would ever think that a full time job would be a moderator, just like markablue moderator...

Yea I agree!! But then I thought how long it took me to learn the concept of setting goals and how I would of benefited by learning that skill earlier.
