Thinking Arizona...

I am considering a move out west somewhere. Considering Arizona, Utah, or Colorado. Would like a great outdoors scene and to be relatively close to a large city i.e. Phoenix, Denver, etc, but do not want to live in the city. Any thoughts?

Yes how about Gilbert AZ. We made the list for one of the safest cities. It's about a 30 minute drive to Phx. There's nothing in Phx worth driving too though.

I hope to visit in January or February. Any other cities you recommend?

I just read an MSN article and it seems the job market in the Phoenix area is great right now.

Yes that's correct the job market is very good right now.
You can also look into Chandler or Scottsdale. Scottsdale is more expensive though. North Glendale may be an option for you also.

Thanks! I was gonna go for New Years, as I heard there are some great parties going on in Scottsdale and Tempe, but $545 for a plane ticket for then. I got them in January for $203 from travelocity.

Proves they just like to rip you off for the holidays...

That's funny I'm going to Charlotte NC Jan 5th from Phx. I checked all those cheap ticket travel sites and ended up saving a few bucks booking Delta direct and having a little more choices on my flight back. Mytickets from Phx to NC with all the junk fees and taxes came to 197.00 per person round trip

Yeah they always have the Tostito bowl going on down there in Tempe. I've never gone, I don't like crowds. I also never went to Times Square for New Years when I lived in NY.

The Denver, Colorado area would probably be my choice out of the places listed. I think the outdoor activities would be best there.
