Help me out here Catfish and correct me if I'm wrong. Benton county is the county directly across the border from Branson, Missouri. It is, in fact, the most economically exclusive county in Arkansas - also being the home of Mrs. WalMart. Branson being the entertainment center of the Coffin-generation, it is my guess that, while being invited to work there, Hispanics would not generally be welcome to live there ... which seems to explain (to me) why there would be such a high incidence in Benton county. Rednecks being generally, pretty darn prevalent all over Arkansas adds, for me, an eerie suggestion of KKK inspired "single mothers", their husbands having been run off by the local populace. - Now, Catfish, that last one is mere and total conjecture on my part - feel free to comment on that. Not arguing with the numbers or the nationwide trend - just wanted to add some backup info explaining where Benton county is ... why the Hispanic population might be so high there ... and also to help explain why it made the news at all.

I was thinking of how you could do it Wyody. It just wouldn't work. If you purchased a good ole Rez Mobile up in Montana, well, you'd probably fit right in. Put a gun rack on the roof of the rez mobile with a shotgun in it and you'd still fit right in. Nope, can't think of any way of getting kicked out.

Thanks Catfish. Don't drink much these days but at least one - two if you play an instrument. Truth, 53. I've found folks in Arkansas to be among the most readily-accepting folks I've met. Black folks. White folks. Don't recall meeting any other kind on my last stops in Arkansas. Friendly. Oh, a bit "married my cousin" in some places but honest and open. It's been a while since I've had the pleasure. Big plates of food - plenty of it to go 'round. Not sure how they'd take to my "Rez-Rocket" ... I wasn't into my "Indian-trip" so much when I went thru those parts last ... and it's like you have to be aiming for Arkansas to hit it - elsewise you hit either Missouri (Misery) or Okrahomer or Lousianne.

You'll have gotten pretty good at writin with an accent:) I'm enjoying the conversation but the topic of the thread is a bit slanted I think. Need to get on over to Arkanas Wyody and give them pointers on presenting both sides...or at least the Wyody version of both sides:) Izzy

I already have so many puncture wounds from sitting on fences everywhere ... I'd probably make a good president! Here's a quickie of Wyody's "two-sides to every story" routine ..... If Arkansas has nothing else, Arkansas has Hope. Hell, Arkansas' HAD Hope. Matter of fact, we've ALL had Hope. She's just that kind o' girl. She's from Arkansas, y'know." But then, there's that President fella we like to call "Bubba" who was actually from Hope. Likes to talk about it a lot. Now, you've just got to know where I'm going with this ... because we all know that Bubba had a problem in getting caught with a lot of loosened-up women ... and They had Hope too! And even when he was getting all kinds of flack from people for havin' those women, that freak was STILL havin' Hope! I get so tired of having my dreams dashed all through this life - so much right down the terlit - there are days when I try to cling desperately to Hope ... but some days ... Hope Blows!!
