Wow we can almost live in a mansion on the shores of Lake Norman for that.

The prices here are dropping...I listed my home for sale last April for nearly $600,000 and we are now listed at just under $550,000. Still no buyers, but we aren't going any lower.

So will you just cancel your plan to move rather than lower your asking price if the market keeps dropping?

OMG, I know what you are going through Catiecupcake! Glad ya joined the group!!!
Talk to you later!!!

PS I was watching Flip this house and they did a flip in L.A.
It was a little shack that they bought for like $300,000. It needed to be torn down. They redid it and sold it for over $700,000. In my opinion, it was not worth it. It had such a small property. Little house too.
The R.E. Market is going crazy.

California is crazy period. The prices are so ridiculous. And you'll be sitting in your tiny $500k shack breathing in very disgusting air anyway. I like the look of Cali but I think the reality is nowhere near as nice.

Besides, I like rain. California is too darn sunny (in the stereotypical image of it aynway).

I just could not justify paying $702k for a house like this.

Re: California housing market.

Hahahahahah, I look at the MLS here in Santa Clara county (Silicon Valley) almost every week and I'm amazed at what is available first off and secondly, what people are trying to get for these run-down shacks!

I found one this morning that was 83 years old, 1530 sq ft, 3BR, 2BA for $949,000! Did I mention that it's EIGHTY THREE YEARS OLD???!!!!

It just makes me sick to see that I can't afford to live in the place where I was born and raised.

Re: California housing market.

I have tried to keep on eye on the houses in my old neighborhood in Fresno and I'm shocked at what some of these are trying to be sold for!!!

Sadly the jerk that bought my parent's former home (the home I grew up in) has it totally dilapidated I'm thinking he's a crackhead or some other user; along with both the fence and roof needing some desparate attention, he's got boards on the windows from the inside!

Re: California housing market.

Our home appraised for $400,000. last Jan. now we would be lucky to get $375,000. 3 BR, 2 BA, on 1/2 acre Valley Springs, CA.
