Okay as I said I would post some pics of the west coast. I can't find my album as I am in the middle of packing and moving in the next couple of days but I had these on my computer Pic 1 - Taken at sunset at the OB dog beach. Pic 2 - Taken off the back patio of my friends house in Point Loma Pic 3 - The fishing hole at the dog beach... really fun wrestling with the dogs to keep them from going after the fish. Pic 4 - A shot off the pier towards the cliffs Pic 5 - A better shot off the pier towards the cliffs Pic 6 - Stopping to take a shot of the "peace rock" off Sunset Cliffs in Point Loma Pic 7 - Just a shot of the surfers and OB from the pier Pic 8 - A shot of the pier on my favorite kind of day at OB. Overcast and no people!!!!!

| Re: Pictures of Ocean Beach & Point Loma He does have a beautiful view and is mine for the asking! He is my childhood friend and still my closest. Since we were 8. Many moons ago. With all the craziness in my life right now he keeps telling me to come home and enjoy the view, it is spectacular!!!

I'm glad someone was viewing this thread. Reminds me of a question I needed to ask. Azi (or anybody), since we spoke on this last, I learned of a couple of old friends who live in the Baja but run a motel in SD. They also refer to "Dog Beach" a lot. I don't remember any such place. I remember the "City Beach" and "Sunset Beach" - I think Sunset Beach is the one we always went to, ... the one with the first-aid shack that I can't remember? I remember the beaches north, too - like Pacific Beach and LaJolla ... but then, you're outta town to like, Carlsbad and Black's and DelMar, etc. Where exactly is Dog Beach? And which one had the "mud-pots" that was like walking the geyser field at Yellowstone? - Wasn't that "City Beach"?

Dog beach is part of Ocean Beach the one with the first aid shack. The area next to OB is called Sunset Cliffs. In the pic with the shack...dog beach is to the left. (Taken from the pier) In the pic of Dog Beach... Ocean Beach is to the left... The mud pots you refet to is the slew off of Dog Beach

Thanks Azi; Now this is sort of a moot question since I cannot recall even the first-aid shack ... and maybe I'm speaking of before your times ... but were there signs way back when saying "Dog Beach"? Sounds like there are now. Gad, I can remember the bead-shops, the wild-and-crazy hot-dog vendor that worked the intersection, I can remember the walk up the hill from Lotus St (where I lived briefly), I can remember walking the pier and body-surfed every dawn for months right by it - right with the board-surfers ... but can't remember the shack. Ah, sweet, sweet age. I had an office on the 6th-floor at, I believe 6th st(?) right north of town-center ... which used to be a mall of, basically, adult-stores. Had to park clear past that and up out of town by a small hospital. I understand they built that area way up ... Used to ride my bike right past Balboa Park and to work on good days ... but no OB shack. I can remember my favorite bar-owner's name and the bar he ran ... and almost every performing act there over a two-year period, I can remember the bartender's name ... I can remember all the waitress' names ... no OB shack. Guess I didn't get hurt? Of course, that was also in the days when all the drugs were permanent. sssssssssSmoKin'!
