| Getting cold here in CA
Well it is finally getting pretty chilly here in central CA. We are having very little rain. No snow to speak of and it is December ![]() This week finally got in the freezing temps at night 28 degrees, and in the 50 - 60's in the daytime. Maybe we'll have snow by xmas. The snow level is about 45 minutes from here. But some winters we get a little on the ground...for a day, here at the house. We usually have a lot of rain, some hail by now. Izzy

We've been having screwy weather. This morning, it was -10. Then this afternoon it was 53. Now it's 5pm and it's raining. I got all kinds of clothes lined up at the door cause I'm not sure what to wear. Where your at Izzy, do you get much snow? My brother lives in San Diego and of course, doesn't get any snow. That's fine by him. haha But I have a friend that lives along Mt Shasta and he gets a lot of snow. I spent a lot of time in California, but it was all in San Diego, or San Fran. San fran got real cold, but didn't get any snow.

I'm in the sierra foothills. Just about 500 ft about sea level...so we only get snow on those freak years when the weather is super cold. It has happened once in the last 3 years. But from here the snow is 45 minutes away. In fact you hit 3,300 ft. about 35-40 minutes from here. Last two years we had lots of rain and hail. Lots of freezing weather. But we don't have to do anything special for our cars...do you have to do something special as far as oil and antifreeze there in Wyoming? Izzy

Water in your engine. We mix 50/50 anti freeze and water. Then we're good to -40. We use oil that is 10W30. That's it. Course, we carry emergency stuff. haha I have a pack that has a parka, candles, water, and stuff that I carry in the vehicle. If I get out in the middle of nowhere, I have the emergency supplies to help me along. Where I live, it's 120 miles to the next town. In that trip, you'll actually see about 4 farms. So it's not like a lot of places that if you break down, there's help. Here, there's nothing. That's why Wyoming has a law that says you cannot pass a disabled vehicle. You have to stop and ask them if they need help.

Well, I call that law, neighborly. Here in CA you could murdered stopping to help someone. More so in the Metro areas then where we live in a small town. But CA would never pass a law like that. I'm trying to find the pics I posted way back of my area in winter. Let me see if I can find them and bring it forward. Izzy
