Sacramento has a way higher cost of living then San Diego so I think that is your best bet.

San Diego has the best weather in the world (no, I'm not kidding - least temp flux and least humitidy). Sacramento is unbearably hot in the summer.

San Diego is fast growing and if you are in the medical field or high tech, you are all set.

I would pick San Diego all day long over Sacramento, personally.

It would be a great help to find out what "Affordable Housing" means to you. Want a house for $5,000 a month, you can find it. Want something less, you can find it. How about a ball park figure on what you think is affordable?

I agree with 53. Need more info. As far as Sac. vs San Diego..There are surrounding areas of Sac. where you can still get a home for under $300,000 on land and be in a good neighborhood or town. I don't think you can find that down in San Diego.

Yes, it gets hot in the summer. In the 100's infact. San Diego has better weather. But in Sac. you are one hour from the mountains...snow in winter. A couple of hours from San Francisco and the ocean. Central CA is very green compared to a lot of areas. We go brown in the summer but fall, winter, and spring are beautiful.

I have lived in both places and found San Diego to be a thousand percent better.... but then it is my home town. But San Diego is WAYYYYYYY more expensive.

Sorry Hmm.. Sacramento is less expensive by a long shot!
