| Moving to san diego for college, HELP?!?
Im getting out the the Navy, July next year. I will be moving to San Diego to go to college and I was a little concerned about a few things. Where are places I can live that are affordable for single college students? I will be needing a part-time job because the G.I. Bill (a military college benefit) will only give me $1300 a month for going to school full time. I will have no bills/debt (thank you Jesus) so all I will have to worry about is rent/ utilities, gas and food/misc spending. Any Ideas of jobs to supplement my income while going to school full time during the day? THANKS!!

I'll answer the job part. My daughter works for Home Depot and they are very good with her college hours. She gets anywhere from 20-35 a week. Waitressing is always a good one, if you can get hired with no experience. Good luck.

leave it to the white girl to recomend Mission Valley (no offense Aimee) Mission Valley is expensive, try outlying areas of San Diego. Consider roommates too. San Diego is a ver Safe city compared to places like Los Angeles and New York. El Cajon is about 20 or 30 minutes from SDSU (hen again san diego's the kind of city you have to drive everywhere) There are good areas of El Cajon, towards Rancho San Diego. I am an aprtment manager in El Cajon and was pleasantly surprised. |

Check out both jobs and housing at http://www.craigslist.com. The further east you go the housing is usually cheaper. Most college students share apartments and you could always get a college loan if you have to. Good luck to you! |
