Why would anyone leave CA? It really is the best place to live.

Re: Should I move to Mount Vernon, Wa from San Francisco, Ca?

I think that if you are sick of CA, you should go try something new. I spent two years researching the Vancouver area of WA for a move and would have been there long ago if it weren't for my husband who just can't seem to get over the weather thing and doesn't want to leave his family. Trying new things in life keeps you young and research shows that it also helps to keep you healthy! Research the weather by going to the "weather underground" and click into the "calendar view" of the area and then you can go back years (month by month) and look at the weather in a pictoral view. If Mt. Vernon doesn't float your boat, then check out Sequim, Wenatchee, Ellensburg, etc. There are so many beautiful areas of WA. You already live in SF and are used to the overcast, so you could easily adjust to the weather in the western half of the state. WA has no state income tax and the housing is lower cost, so the amount you save on the house and in taxes will pay for a number of mighty nice vacations each year!!
