living around Orange county

OK, I love Disneyland and used to dream about working there. Is the cost of homes with an hour drive within the range of $400,000, or does my dream stay a dream.

Also, has anybody been to disneyland and in fantasy land and looked up to the window in the castle wall, over by snow white's scary ride? Next time your there take a look. Most think it's the wicked witch, but I have it on good authority that it's actually markablue moderator. Just a rumor though.

SOOO BADDDDD

I lived on OC about 15 min away from Dismalland... we went all the time and it got old believe it or not. Well that was 22 years ago and back then the homes were unaffordable!!! We had a nice home in a nice area about 2000 sq ft and it was about that range back then.

With in an hours drive sans traffic. I say yeah you can find it... but I doubt you would feel safe.

Dang!

First, is there ANYWHERE you have not lived?

My family got really tired of going every two years. But I'm a kid at heat. Always wanted to have the annual pass and be able to stop by in the middle of the day, do one ride and leave.

Have you been back since california adventure and downtown disney?

To answer your first question, yes, North Dakota and Hawaii... in fact those are the only 2 states I have not been in. When I was growing up my dad worked for a major hotel chain and they moved us every 3-6 months, all over the US... home was San Diego and later Palm Springs (CA). So we always ended up back there. As an adult... I moved a lot because my Mom said I developed Gypsy blood. I get bored in one place for too long and move. Now that I am older... I am looking to dig in ... I think...okay maybe... heck I don't know!!!

And yes I was just at Disneyland in June with a couple of friends... a lot of changes in some ways but a lot of the same. it was fun and a very long day!!!

Re: living around Orange county

We are headed to Disneyland in March. Valley Springs Easter vacation break, is ahead of most other school districts. So we go before everyone else and during the week. We have been there 3 years straight and last year the Pirates ride was closed. It rained a little the first two days and a lot the last evening.

March is Disneyland's rainy season. A great time to go, lines are short and the crowds are small. Would not go during regular Easter vacation...it gets really crowded then.

California park has a lot to offer the little kids. Shows and rides. We were in both parks Disney/California for three days...still didn't cover everything. Well we will be headed back there in about 7 weeks. I''ll take my camera and lots of pictures.:)

For the 5 of us...2 nights and 3 days, run about $1000. That is hotel and tickets in the parks...before food and gas.

It is about six hours from Valley Springs. A long trip with 3 small kids. I've been to Disneyland about 10 times in the last 42 years. Things have changed but have also stayed the same. No more submarine or bear jamobree. The park seemed more like home when I was little. Spent my first honeymoon in Disneyland. (Married twice)

We will most likely go there every year until we move out of state. Will someday go to Florida to Disney World.:)

Re: living around Orange county

Best day to hit amusement parks---------Mother's Day!!!! Slim crowds on those days... However since Disneyland pulls tourists from out of the country...it is pretty much always busy.
