Food Prices Going Up.

Hi folks,

I just paid $7.00 for a watermelon yesterday at WINCO. Loaf of bread at the small market here in town is $4.00. Bread at Winco is almost $2.00. Winco being the bargain store in our area. These are prices that reflect central CA. I think we will see more increases on anything that has to be trucked in. I wonder what prices are like on the islands now? Hawaii and surrounding areas. Has anyone else noticed the big jump in groceries?

Yup. Big time here in Portland. We have started going to produce stands for vegetables and fruit now. Better prices than grocery stores. Meat has really gone up. We decided to go vegetarian two days a week. Not only will it make us healthier, it will help the World environmentally. Meat production uses a lot of resources.

Re: Food Prices Going Up.

Okay, I bought three bags of food the other day, little plastic bags, and it came to $55. I made the clerk recheck the tag. It was right. Didn't even buy any meat.
