We're all electric here and the power bill was $96.00 That's a two person home, plus a MIL visit for a long weekend.

The weather has been nice the last couple of days. I left the heater off today. The sun was shining and it was beautiful out here in Valley Springs. Now if I go wash the car...it will rain:)

Our highest bill in the past has been in the $300. range. So this one was definately a shock. But it was mighty cold last month.

Average residential electricity rates, Oct 2006 from EIA
CA 12.2 cents/kWh
WA 7.0
ID 6.1

So Izzy's, Cleo'z and Rod's $86 bill are all for the same amount of energy.

Rod, I never broke it down to kWh/cents. But it looks like from what you posted that ID is about half of California rates. So my bill in Idaho would have been about $225. That is a big savings on the living expenses. Something to keep in mind. Thanks for the numbers.

Mine gets costly as well to run. I heard though the way to go is natural gas instead of electric.

I looked into it. It will take years before it pays itself off. Its only the winters I have to worry about it anyway. The cover in the summer brings it up to a boil. 104 + Hot

104+ ouch!!! Ours is set at 100, and when it is at 100, it is almost too hot at times.

$303 here with 6 people coming and going in a 2800+ sq ft house. This place is never empty of people. That is for gas and elect.
