| California Electric Bills
Those of you in CA... Who is your electric company and what approx do you pay for electricity? When I was in Palm Desert and La Quinta (east of Palm Springs), it was unreal. Living in Palm Desert we were on edison and for a 3 bed 2 ba approx 1700 sq ft we paid around 250-300 depending on what time of year. When I moved to La Quinta we found out we were on Impreial Irrigation...cheaper we heard but had a 3 bed 3 ba home about 2100 sq ft with a pool and our bills in the summer were close to 500 a month!!! And we have long summers there. It was insane... Now I am up in WA and between Gas and elect combined the most we have paid in a month is 303. and most of that was gas due to the cold and running the heat. And we have just over 2800 sq ft here. I just can't understand why they charge so much in Electricity in places where you need it most. Well I can but you would think they would lower the prices since people use so much more.

We use a local company for our gas, Alpine gas. Right down the road from us. That bill was $250. in Dec. We use PGE (I'm pretty sure, hubby pays that bill) for our electric that was $200. My son in Stockton owns a mobile home. His gas was $200. and his electric $100. I'm leaving the heat low during the day and burning a fire:) Izzy

We live in the Silicon Valley in CA and last months PG&E bill was over $500! Now I think that a large chunk of that is due to the industrial space heater that DH uses out in the garage while he is working during the day. But still...

$500. that's a car payment. Shhhhh. We better go cut down another dead tree on the property for fire wood. Next year I'm getting an insert...it would pay for itself. Izzy
