Moving to Colorado Springs?

Thinking of moving to Colorado Springs with my husband and 1 year old son, want to know about area, crime, schools, why housing is so much cheaper there then anywhere else in Colorado, shopping, ect.

I lived in Colorado Springs for over 25 yrs, just retired from there 2 yrs. ago. Houses there are cheaper than in Denver and in the resort areas and there are a gret many of them available. Crime is present, but much less than many places. Schools are generally good, with many private ones avail too.. I think you would love it. It is beautiful, geat place for young families. it is growing by leaps and bounds...a sign of a healthy city. Jobs there are largely in the high tech fields and require degrees or specialized training. Be sure to check out job possibilities before moving. Housing tends to be more expensive the furthur north in the city you go...also on the west side.
