| Moving to Colorado Springs/Pueblo, Colorado?
We are moving to the Colorado Springs/Pueblo area in about a month. We currently live in Arizona. We used to live in Denver and loved it. But, we don't know about the south side of Colorado. Can anyone tell me where the best place to live is? Thanks. We are a young family with young Children.

Stick to the Colorado Springs area I lived in both areas and the People in Pueblo just did not seem to care about how they took care of their yards and I hate to think about what the insides of their houses looked like. Good luck with your move Colorado is a great place to live!

I live in the Pueblo area and the inside of some of our houses isn't too shaby. We're not all running meth labs out of our homes out here. Come out to the south and west side of Pueblo West, El Camino, Aberdeen, parts of Belmont, the new north section along Ridge, etc. I'd take Pueblo over Colorado Springs any day. If I was gonna live in Colorado Springs, heck-I'd just move on up to Denver. Better homes, better jobs, better views-really, better standard of living etc. This is 31 years of experience talking here. If you don't believe me, go to some bigger forum like CD and put Colorado Springs vs Denver in there and you'll see the pros and cons. Pueblo's got character. Pueblo's got style. Years ago, we had CF&I Steel. It's gone now. Pueblo is a very blue-collar behind the times town. It's just south of what you would call the busy Front Range and just north of the Greenhorn Mountain Range and just east of the Canon City/Royal Gorge area. It's at the junction of the Arkansas River (source of the best drinking water in the world) and the Fountain Creek (yuck! Colorado Springs sewer water). Because of the Fountain Creek, I pretty much stay up stream or West of that part of Pueblo. I've worked and practically lived in Colorado Springs and I just don't like it. Most of the people who do live west of I-25 but well away from Nevada Ave and the Briargate area. There's an area near N. Academy and Vickers that's pretty nice if you're rich. Pueblo is really nice and historical. If you like the big city and need lots of culture, may I suggest LA, Chicago, or Manhattan Island? Many from those places have come to Sothern Colorado to escape that rat race. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Come to Pueblo...Come to the Dark Side...We've got candy... |
