| Moving to Colorado....?
Me and my familty are moving to Colorado in June. My daughter will be attending 9th grade there and she was wandering how the teens there compare to where we live now in Texas? She is afraid of being teased or picked at because of her accent and style. I had heard that the teens in Colorado were a little behind in what is popular now...but ????? We are possibly moving to the Thornton area. Can anyone share any good experiences moving from Texas to Colorado?

It's slow in here so I'm gonna go ahead and comment; even though I don't live in Denver anymore ( I live in southern Colorado again) and I'm not a parent. I lived in Denver for 15 years throughout my college years and earlier career. We lived in Thornton for a bit. If I were to have a choice, I'd choose Ranum High School or maybe Westminster over Northglen or Thornton. My two cousins went to Ranum and it served them very well. I think the other kids would like her accent/style. You had heard that the teens in Colorado were a little behind in what is popular now? But that's a good thing, right? The in-thing is growing up too fast. Here, take my advice, I'm not using it. I wanted to grow up too fast when I was in 9th grade; getting wasted when we could get some booze, sex-drugs-rock'n'roll! Hey, it was a fact! That was on my mind from Friday evening till Sunday night. Here's that advice; don't let her grow up too fast. If she's ahead in "what's popular", then she'll be considered cool, and make friends really easily. Just hope that she makes the right friends. Ones who take school serious, take advantage of all it has to offer, and thinks real seriously about college and internships during her Junior and Senior years of high school.
