Yes! I would move to AVON, CO. It is about 15 min away from Vail and Nottingham Lake is beautiful. They have paddle boats, a little beach where you can play sand volleyball and excellent fishing where you can even rent equipment to fish or even Rollerblade. The views in Avon are amazing and the air is so clean. The people are really nice and helpful and the skiing and snowboarding are some of the best in Colorado!

Definitely look into this, I would also suggest Vail, however the price to live there is outrageous but it's even more beautiful.

I would suggest Mary Jane/Winter Park for your more challenging skiing and it's close to Granby Lake which I do believe you can use for your boating needs.

It's the second largest reservoir in Colorado, second to Blue Mesa. It's near Lake Grand, which I believe is the deepest true lake in Colorado.

I tried googling a photo of Lake Granby and realized that the desktop pic that I got from friends we were camping with in the area is a pretty good one. Here ya go;

Like Nina pointed out, the pic I have up there IS Lake Dillon, not Grandby. Sorry my bad.

But I heard Avon is touristy and expensive, with the majority of homes owned by the very rich. (This opinion comes from someone who lives in the area and still loves the area because he is an avid skier.) Hope this isn't the case for similiar places.
