| moving to boulder soon, any suggestions?
i'm going to be going to university of colorado soon, and i was wondering about the area. i've visited twice and loved it, but we were only there a few days. does anyone have any thoughts on the people, jobs, school, or culture? i know it's a huge skiing and snowboarding area so i assumed that people who practiced winter sports would know. thank you in advance!

Hey Doc, you say that like it's a bad thing. ![]() Oh, well I suppose that is bad. Well I'm sure there's some bad at CU, but it's not all bad. A lot of people would love to live in Boulder but they move elsewhere because it's what they can afford. Boulder is very scenic and has people there who are very active and like to play outdoors. You see a lot of people riding their bikes to work. Smoking cigarettes is like a sin and a Federal offense. I would say that there is a lot of work in the Boulder area if you have the right skills. I could probably find work in Boulder, but I imagine the competition would be fierce. If you become a CU grad, you'll have a leg up, but how are you gonna put yourself through school? You may already have this covered, but I'd bet out-of-state tuition is outrageous. This is why I went to the Auraria Campus in Denver to get my schooling. If I had it to do over again, I would have been rich and went to CU. Go Buffs! I've heard rumors that Boulder is kind of liberal as a whole. But I'm sure the truth to the matter is that there's a mix of everything. I would think that people who are serious skiers and boarders would head on up I-70 past the Eisenhower Tunnel to go skiing and boarding. I'm thinking A-Basin, Breckenridge, Keystone, Mary Jane/Winterpark, Copper Mountain, etc. Now Eldora is 21 miles west of Boulder and they've got a 65" base now, so... Go here if you want to check it out. School, well there's a college there... duh. I didn't know what you meant by that. I assume you mean colleges. If you're from Boulder, you'd say GO BUFFS! If you're from anywhere else in America, you'd say GO RAMS or GO FALCONS! ![]() Culture, well there's gettin high and there's anonymous sex! ![]() Have fun!
