difficult to meet people my own age or just firends in general no matter the age. I have a finance' and a beautiful son...but I still feel like something is missing, and that would be friends. So I guess what I'm asking is does anyone have any ideas on how to meet people?

I see that this is your first post. Welcome and thanks for coming into the Colorado thread! I have no idea what city or area you live in. When I lived in Denver, I went to Washington park and played volleyball. A very social and healthy hobby (well until you roll an ankle or something). There are many things you can do to meet people in your similiar situation. With a child or children, those avenues would be different than others somewhat. What if you had a dog to take for a walk once in a while. Good for the dog and you'll meet similiar people and get a chance to check out the scenery-wherever you are. I lke fishing. I bet there are tons of things you can do. Dining is a social event. Find a place where you can go once a week and just find a spot that you like if for no other reason than to get out and have a meal. Stuff like that. Good luck and have fun. Don't live in your state...but try going to church, many young families do. Or call your local library and see if they have story time for your child. You will meet other families with children the same age as yours. During the winter we go to Chuckecheese Pizza Place...it has indoor activities. Do you have any indoor recreational places...like indoor swimming? Also, try enrolling your child in a preschool. You will meet lots of families there and your child will break the ice for you. Everywhere we go...I hear..."Hi...you're my friend's mom." For an evening out...look for your local Theatre group...plays put on by locals. Izzy
