| Want to move from colorado to florida?!?
Im a native to colorado but have had a huge itch the past couple of years to move to florida because of a family vacation there i just loved it. Besides the hurricanes and heat , the heat doesnt bother me coming from colorado i could use a good thaw out. But going as a single male age 23, i would love to get a house but am thinking i could only afford a condo or appartment. Looking to move to central florida area as in orlando/kissimmee area. Besides the tourists what would be some other negitives to living in that area???

At your age, this could be a great thing for you. I did a similar cross-country move at the same age and it was one of the best things I ever did. I moved to FL for the same reasons 10 years ago, and never regretted it. Orlando is very similar to other major cities, with it's pluses & minuses. Outside of Orlando are smaller towns (growing quickly), that are on the quieter side. You also have both coasts (Tampa & Daytona), which are great destinations less than an hour away. Now is also a great time to buy a home, as many vacation areas have surplus inventory. As a single person, I would definitely lean towards a condo. They are less maintenance than a house, giving you more free time to do other things. A great place to live, you'll get used to the heat after one summer. Everywhere you go has AC, like everywhere you go now has heat. I think the summer heat is much more bearable than the bitter cold. Do your research thoroughly before you move, and you should be fine. If your searching websites, make sure you separate fact from opinion. |

I'd agree that you're young enough to handle the heat, but that heat comes with humidity. 105 degrees in Pueblo is like 80 out there. So you wear shorts and a polo shirt for Business Casual. It'd be nice to have access to a pool. Two of my brothers live out in Bradenton. Last time I was out there, I got to fly from Tampa to Sarasota in this little beauty; ![]() Co-Pilot McGowdog! ![]() ![]() We got to go down the coast at about 3000 ft and that little bird actually had a smoother landing than those big jets. I like the warm waters of the Gulf. You won't be too far from either the Gulf or the Atlantic if you want to hit the beach. The water on the Atlantic side is probably quite a bit colder. You're young. You should enjoy it. Travel IS education. If you get homesick, Colorado will still be here. |
