The way out skirts of Denver is beautiful. Very expensive but beautiful. The mountains are breathe taking. I personally loved the Ft. Collins area. I use to live in 3 differnt areas of Colorado and Ft.Collins area was the prettiest to me. There is alittle town south of Denver called Monument. My ILs live there and now thats a beauiful town. But I have heard it has really grown. I have been gone from CO for about 4 yrs. But the only thing I miss is the mountains. And the snow (sometimes LOL ).... |

Might want to consider a smaller town if you are so inclined to live in Colorado. Look at this picture. This is where I lived in W. Colorado... Ridgway to be exact. That's the San Juan Mt. Range. To the far right, you see a dark hill in the foreground, that levels off on the top, and it's called Log Hill. We lived on top of there at 8,000 feet. Absolutely spectacular. Probably wondering why we left huh? Well, see that dirt road? I don't care for dust and mud. It's either one of the two all the time. Also didn't like having to travel a half an hour to get a sandwich. Anyway, if you REALLY love the outdoors, consider W. Colorado. By the way, Ralph Lauren's ranch is the right half of the mountain. I had an employee whose husband worked on the ranch. They were eccentric to say the least. They would fly in for the weekend once a year. He had something like 8,000 acres (?) We also lived down the street from Dennis Weaver and his "Earthship" house. I think it's made of old tires and dirt. It's basically inside the side of a hill. It's up for sale by the way. Interested? Go to http://www.dennisweaver.com. Clearly, I'm not advertising his house but there are some nice pictures of the area on the site. I passed right by his house every from work. The beautiful thing is having access to the hot springs in Ouray. Talk about soothing... Aaaaaaaaaah... Only cost $90 PER YEAR for a family membership. It's open year 'round and believe me, you wouldn't believe it even if I described it to you. Ouray is an old mining town and it's nesseled in between 14,000 peaks, basically on the left of the picture. OMG it's awesome sitting in an outdoor pool that could fit 1,000 people in the middle of winter. Anyway, even if you don't live there you should vacation there. I took this picture...
