| Rosie leaving the view
I just read on line this morning that Rosie is leaving the view. Claiming not to be able to come to a contract agreement. But at peace with the rest of the cast. I wonder who will replace her. Those will be some big shoes to fill. Rosie has been a strong outspoken person on the show...can't think who might fit that bill...to replace her. I will miss her outspoken ways.:) Izzy

Now, Don Imus? at the table with all those women? I hope this is a joke for his sake ... but does sound interesting.

Watched the video clip...sounds like a very interesting lady. Is she still around? Like to listen to old timers tell stories. Better than TV. I sometimes listen to old radio shows on my laptop. Talk Radio. ACB Radio Treasure-Trove (classic radio drama and comedy.) All the good stuff from the days of radio and Black & White TV. Anybody else listen to the oldies on their computers? Izzy

http://home.earthlink.net/~dianska/mabley.htm I used to see her when I was younger on the Merv Griffin show with Arthur Treacher ... who seems to have also been forgotten with time ... anybody ever eat at an "Arthur Treacher's Fish & Chips"? I think they only lasted a few years in the 70's. I was just after the "radio generation" and all the popular serials had switched over to TV. I grew up with Black&White TV, had a color TV briefly in the 70's and went back to B&W TV until the mid-90's. It was plenty real enough for me and I could still use my own imagination some. Back in the days when the realest cartoon/animated figure was Elmer Fudd! Next came Popeye. It disappointed me to such an extent when cartoons started using "lifelike" cartoon figures (Johnny Quest) that I decided to instantly grow up and drop cartoons!

Remember when we had the b/w tv's and then to make it look like color there was a plastic color thingy to put over the screen? How weird was that. I remember Elmer Fudd, Popeye, the Flintstones, the Jetsons, Bugs Bunny and all the rest of the classics. Oh yea about Rosie, I thought I heard that Roseann Barr was going to take her place on the View. Is that a fact???

I don't agree with many of Rosie's political statements, but I do think she is a very funny comedian and witty as well. I think there will be people who will miss her terribly and people who will be glad to see her leave. As far as Rosanne Barr...I think she would be great on the View...it was incredibly clever of Barbara Walters to recruit a comedian...the View needs one.

Yes, without a comedian...who is also a strong viewed woman...the show is too main streamed and therefore predictable. Rosanne Barr would be great. She has mellowed with years, but at the same time, no one walks on Rosanne. She has strong views but can be serious/ funny when called for. She is very intelligent. And in tune with middle class America. Her show mirrored my life...for many years. Her subject matter and how it was handled was real life, not Hollywood...then the last year of her show went off the deep end completely Hollywood. Got a little crazy. But the rest of it most of us could relate too. I do hope they get her. She would make the show worth watching.:) Izzy

Quite a while back, Bill O'Reilly had Rosie on after some of her statements regarding Columbine. She seemed a little embarrassed by some of the things she had said and told Bill that she had been so outraged by the incident that she was speaking before thinking. I think all of us have done that at times. She really impressed me with her demeanor on his show, though. Lately, she seems to lack a bit in the tactfullness department...oops...I forgot who I was talking about.

I am glad she is off. She does not represent America. Her idea of America is a place similar to Sodom and Gomorrah. She is a sick puppy!!! Did I say puppy? I mean dog!!! Ruff Ruff!

Cuban! Glad to hear from you. Missed you. I think they should do "the Donald and Rosie show". That would be entertaining.

| Re: Rosie leaving the view Cuban, you're back. My hubby agrees with you on Rosie. I think she is not appealing to a lot of folks. But I like her honesty, and back bone. She is not main stream America...and she is sometimes out there on her views. But still...she is honest about her views. To many folks on TV play head games with the viewers.Izzy Edit: FYI my interent connection is down until Friday. So I will not be here much...unless I go to the office...I'll be back daily...on Friday:)

Does ANYONE know for sure if Richard Simmons is gay? Everyone assumes, but has he ever admitted it? Just curious.

I did hear him concede to it not very long ago - can't recall for sure but I'm pretty certain it was on Letterman. How do you think I felt, growing up - being called "Little Liberache" in grade-school ... and it was like I was the only person in the world who knew Lee wasn't just your average "momma's boy".? Sigh, the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's and the 21st century sure has been a weird place - what with some rough-riding rednecks hanging every gay in sight but their wives and mommas sitting in front of the TV saying "Now isn't he cute?" Now, on to Little Richard! Been asking for half a century - Whazzup wi' dat?!?

A pony, eh? Mony, mony...ride the pony...Okay, so it's official? Seems he always dodged the question whenever asked. I do love his energetic personality, though. Not only is he gay, then, he's happy, also. I wonder who came up with the term 'gay' for those who prefer the same sex? Who decided that word would mean homosexual? Sometimes, especially when it's raining, I have too much time on my hands.
