We always manually did it before, but I might buy a timer. I think we had a remote control for the outdoor ones last year. There won't be any outdoor lights this year since I am still in an apartment temporarily.

My husband has rewired our whole house. (1860's farm house) He put the front porch lights and outside outlets on a separate circuit so we just throw the switch in our electric box on and off and Ta Da! The Christmas lights go on or off. We don't have to go outside in foul weather to do it. No need for timers either. |

Nope.....just an average sized 7 room house. Those who buy a house this old know what I mean when I say that you continually are working on it. We have put on a new roof, new heating system, ripped out walls and redone the electric and put lots of insulation in. It's a labor of love and you sure had best like doing this kind of stuff if you buy an old house. It keeps us busy.....that and always working on the barn also. We just happen to prefer old houses to new ones. They have a lot of character. | |
