| Getting frustrated trying to find a trailer
I bought a 4 wheeler. 2.1 miles, I wrecked it and my arm. Both are already being taken care of. But I would like to buy a trailer so I can get more then 3 houses down the street. Here's the dilemma. I own one. My son-in law and daughter own one, their son has one. Need a 4 position trailer. Or, My other daughter has one, her hubby has one, and of course mine. So I need a 3 or 4 position trailer if we're headed up on the mountain. I can find used ones on EBAY and I have to pick them up in New York, or Alabama, or Hawaii. If they are new, there's no prices. Sent email and no responses because each dealer is going to charge a price based on the demand for his area. But I can't find dealers either. There are no dealers in this area for trailers. Oh yeah, I can get a thousand horse trailers in stock here in town. But I can't find a trailer for ATV's. I'm blaming it on Wyody because he didn't buy enough trailers to create a market when he was in this neck of the woods. We have one dealer in town that sells ATV trailers. It's an unmanned lot and had a sign saying who to call. When I finally decided I needed one, the sign was missing. I have no clue who to contact on his trailers. He's got about 20 trailers in his lot and no way to get ahold of him. Plus, I have some size issues. He sells trailers that are about 6 inches too narrow for setting two abreast. Anybody have an inside track on somebody to sell me a trailer? hahahaha Signed, "Frustrated in Wyoming".

I'm glad you mentioned this. It could actually be over on the Wyoming forum or someplace in the Rockies - but trailers. Yup. At a premium. My money was in bed-baskets and brush-guards. Specialized stuff. I couldn't spare anything for the little .... noisy, pesky always making ryingggg-ryingggg sounds when I'm climbing my little mountain waiting for my slow ol' horse or too-stubborn mule to catch up ... I mean, I just got used to "pristine", eh? Above the tree-line. On the glacier, cloud-high ... and there were no crazy-loud bug-chasers runnin' anywhere around and ... by the way ... have I ever mentioned how I feel like that Chief on the comic-strip "TumbleWeeds" whose famous line is "Sigh, I miss the old days".? So: Trailers: Seems you can't find anybody to buy one when you're looking to unload. Or can't find one when you need one the most. Build your own - Have it built. Lots of old oil-and-gas-field welders around your neck of the state. Check those county auctions. Maybe a trip to Belle Fourche.

| Re: Getting frustrated trying to find a trailer Uh, 53, that would be the Reagan years. Remember, I've been trying to point things like this out over time right here on this site? Well, this is one of those times. No farmboy. No farm. No welder. Crunch that up in yer Republican diaries. Ronnie bought the farm (right after he broke the farmer ... to of course allow for more "corporate" farms. E-coli?)

He's been salavating saying, "I can do it, I can do it." But I keep saying, well, you know it's going to be a pretty big project and I'm not sure you'll have the time to help out. Again I hear, "I can do it, I can do it." So I might end up running down to Rapid and pick up a set of axles. That's the nearest place I know to get a set. I want the trailer with tandoms. For stability. I'm not going to haul that much weight, but if I'm going to build, it's going to be stabil.

Have you looked into snowmobile trailers? This is a Floe dealer in Billings, Montana. I know that Floe makes a tandem axle 4 place. Big Sky Utility Trailer Sales 6428 Laurel Frontage Rd. Billings, MT 59107 Phone: (406) 652-2330 Fax: (406) 656-9943 There might be a closer dealer for another brand. |

I messed up last week. A trailer was in the paper and the price was rediculous. I thought, must be a real piece of crap. $200. 4 place trailer. Was what it said. About 4 hours later a buddy called me up. He had bought it. All Aluminum. Tailgate ramps built on. Spare tire. All tires look brand new. Lights all work fine. Absolutely nothing wrong with it. He had just bought an enclosed trailer and didn't need this one. He could have sold for $1000 or better.
