Mexico trucks allowed into US

Mexico trucks allowed into US
After labor day mexican trucks will be allowed into the US, I assume without
visa or the like. I wonder is this another job that Americans "wont do" (not
true). What is the reason for this besides allowing more illegals in while
stating that they want to secure the border. Funny how little press this has
gotten.

Oh I am sure none will be anything other than "hard workers". Americans need
to start asking to allow illegals in from other countries to do an honest
job in government since we know that is really a job Americans (lawmakers)
don't want to do!

Re: Mexico trucks allowed into US

That creates a whole bunch of problems, are the trucks DOT inspected like our trucks are,
Do they have a medical card an proof of insurance are they gona do random drug testing.
Do they fallow the same laws hrs behind the wheel to time off on duty off duty hrs.
What happens when they get in a accident. I think they opened up a can of worms!
The trucking industry has been claiming not enough drivers . the real problem is the trucking companies don’t want to pay the drivers they want all the money for themselves
Kind of like the CEO’s of the major airlines. Northwest in particular, bunch of blood sucking crooks.

Unfortunately George, the Secretary of the Department has waved all requirements in a letter that was sent to all of the Ports, Highway Patrol, Sheriff's departments, etc. Well worth the read.

Re: Mexico trucks allowed into US

I read that an it reminds me of the seat belt law , at first just a warning an no fines ,
Now they can pull you over an fine you for no seat belt . all because the car companies didn’t want to put in air bags. How long do you think it will take before Mexican drivers can make pickup an drops from one town to the other in the usa . bringing freight in is one thing , how do you know the place your dropping off at has a load going back to Mexico .driving back empty from some wear in the usa is less profitable than just dropping your load the other side of the border an going back with a in bound load.
This is just the beginning, you wait in 3 to 5 years they will be able to make pickups an drops any ware in the usa just like our guys.
They couldn’t get any Somali drivers so they went south.
All I see is the wages going down for our guys, It’s just a bunch of smoke an mirrors crock of poo.

Re: Mexico trucks allowed into US

It really chaps my hide and I haven't driven for years. Wouldn't it be nice if DOT waved your fees for the year?

How about road taxes. They going to pay the pump price or I"ll bet, they hit the Rio Grand with enough fuel to drop their load and get back across the Rio without donating to our pavement.

How about insurance?

They did a 30 day study of inspections of Mexico trucks and found they were mostly safe so now they're going to allow 100 companies acess to the US. How many trucks does each company have?

Do you think any of them can fill out a log book? Doubt it. That's something new to them. Think they'll know the hour requirements?

How are licenses and permits going to happen. You have to buy a license for that state, or get a permit every time you come into that state, will they?

Teams in singles out. Every trip they make, they're "Team Drivers". But when that truck goes back, there'll only be one driver and nobody in the bunk.

We had a pretty good track of "Made in Mexico, Made in USA." How watered down is that going to get?

The dam has busted and we're screwed. The good old Government has again decided what is good for us. Congress voted this down, by the way. President Bush overroad that and passed it by executive order or somthing.

Old Jim Hoffa is pissed and Jimmy is trying to roll over in that concrete.

Re: Mexico trucks allowed into US

When I did the project down in Mexico I saw the requirements for a CDL.

The first requirement was a physical. Didn't need a doctor, the drivers license examiner watched your chest. Breathing, check.

The written test only has one question.

1) Who has the right away?

a) Large truck with big horn.
b) Little car with horn that goes meep meep.

The skills test, the guy takes you out and says, "Examine your brakes." So you open the door and point at the pedal. Check.

Then they have you demonstrate question 1 in real traffic.

I have to work hard to keep a cdl and drive. These mexicans are going to be
driving on no sleep and in unsafe trucks.
They say that mexicans will have to go by our hours of service rules , but
how do they know how long this mexican has been awake and driving before
entering our country. You can drive 24/7 in mexico.

Re: Mexico trucks allowed into US

How many of these trucks are going to enter the United States as "Team Drivers" and go back with only one person in the truck?

Well, tomorrow tells the tail. The gates open up on Thursday. The Teamsters tried to get it stopped but all they did was get it delayed until Thursday.

So starting tomorrow, we need to keep an eye on it.

I thought that the drivers coming over the border would be getting paid by their home company, hence, no jump in pay. Are you saying that they are getting paid extra for hauling on our roads?

$1 Billion to Fund Illegals Healthcare

How did this get voted in? Who approves this? Where is the money coming
from? How come Taxpaying Americans are denied help but this goes through?
When is our nation going to stand up and say "If you have a problem being
asked if you are a citizen, then go away." You would not get help like this
in Mexico. They would let you die on the streets.

This is OUR money, it comes from OUR taxes. The next election needs to be
ALL about this, because they slid all this in, while distracting so many
people with the Iraq war.
