What will it take for politicians in Washington to realize that securing the
Mexican border is a MUST. How many times does this have to happen before
they wake up? This happened yesterday in Phoenix, and as a result, the
Phoenix Police Department lost one of their best.

And they want to give these people amnesty?

PHOENIX -- The man authorities say shot and killed a Phoenix police officer
yesterday was an illegal immigrant.

Ben Lemoine and Tess Rafols reports That new information coming from
Immigration and Customs Enforcement today. The agency says 22-year-old Erik
Jovani Martinez was in the country illegally last year when he was arrested
and convicted on sex charges.

Martinez was then deported, and at some point re-entered the country
illegally.

Martinez was killed yesterday after police shot him as he pointed a gun at
the head of a carjacking victim.

He had been stopped a little before that for jaywalking by Phoenix police
Officer Nick Erfle.
