Snow already

So have any of you out there had any snow yet? I know we have in Duluth, MN. Not much but I just looked out the window and I saw some flakes coming down. Last week we had a good one inch covering on the ground that stuck around for a day or so. Here's a picture I took...not very good, but my camera isn't the greatest.

A friend of mine in Utah, outside Salt Lake City, said they got a few inches the other night. Here in North Central Texas, high's in the 70-80's, lows in upper 40's still; but it'll change, I'm sure...

I live in SE Wyoming and we got snow all day yesterday (Tuesday) and most of the night. Only a few inches though. Supposed to warm up by the weekend. Right now the NW wind is howling. Brrrrr!

RE: Snow already

Most of the immediate Atlanta area has been snow-free for the last two years. This time of year is quirky around here, as one day the highs will be in the mid-60s, then it's 82 the next day, etc.

If we ever DO get snow, it's usually long after Xmas, around mid to late January or so. Then you get 1-3 inches and everyone completely freaks out and drains the grocery stores of milk and bread as though they're going to be frozen into their homes for two weeks. VERY odd.

For some time Atlanta would get one large snow storm literally right on the dot, every 10 years. This happened for several decades from what I've been told. Well, this time around we're two years PAST that last deadline for the first time since the 1940s or something. So we're either going to get clobbered late, or, the climate has changed permanently to the point where we are now living in a "1980s North Florida climate" for good.

That reminds me of a time I was riding in the car with my family on a vacation to Florida. We live in Minnesota, so it was a LONG drive and from what I remember there was a snow storm in and around the Atlanta area so we ended up taking the scenic route through North Carolina I think. This would have been about fifteen years ago so I don't remember much, lol. I wasn't very old back then.

I think it's funny how you mentioned people rushing to the stores. Maybe I'm just too used to the snow but it's like it doesn't even phase us here. I've heard stories of southern cities getting an inch or so of snow and the whole city comes to a stop because people aren't used to driving on it. We always joke that we only have two seasons; winter and road construction.
