I have been away two weeks and now this place has exploded.

If you go look at city-data (btw, I never understood what's with spelling it citi?) you'll see the population is DRAMATICALLY different than it was just a month ago.

Almost NONE of the names you'd see posting around late December are there anymore.

It's just a bunch of random, infrequent posters. City-data is becoming more and more just "question and answer" where Talkstates is starting to become more "social" - which is GOOD!

Also, city-data is slowing down quite a bit. It is more noticeable some times then others but in general the posts are not coming as quick as even a few weeks ago. The forum is very slowly declining - but it's going to be a long while before huge problems start. I hope they just give up and close the darn thing.

I think it would help if they limited the number of moderators...it seems like they are welcoming a new moderator every day. It's not even remotely interesting over there anymore, in my opinion.

It's really boring there, it's slowing down and yeah what's with all these new mods? It seems they're picking people who NEVER post and making them mods?

Seems very peculiar to me...how would they know who would be good moderators if there are only a handful of posts to go by? The fact that a lot of the mods don't stay very long is strange, also. I think the smurfette (markablue) will be there forever though...I know a lot of people have a thing for Star Trek babes...

It really looks like things are picking up here....we were out of town for a few days and now its taking me a looooong time to catch up on the posts I have missed (and I certainly don't want to miss anything.) Back to my reading!

Thanks, dufferz. We have a house down at Emerald Isle (NC) and went down for a few days. Don't have a laptop so was out of touch....now I'll catch up.

(And talkstates IS home!)
