posting pics on the state threads?

Okay here is a question, say I want to place a group of pictures from my area. California, Big trees park, valley springs, gold country...How do I do it simply so that I don't have to attach each one separately. If I have the url look at my personal website, storage folder, will it find all the pics are will I have to place them separately. I could just post a link to my photo page. But I know it is always nice just to have the pictures in the thread.

I'll add to that.

I am keeping my camera with me when I travel and I want to start posting pics also so that people can see and comment on the sites of washington.

Can we, or should we have a sub forum for those who want to do this, a pictures forum under each state exclusively for pictures and comments about the pics?

I think it would be cool. Not sure about storage space so Admin would need to chime in....

I think that would be a great idea. I ended up adding them one by one to my post in the california forum.:) Took a little while.

Can any body answer her? I think pictures would be a great thing for the states. I in fact I like to start a thread on AZ pictures.

They need to be inserted seperately with img tags just like you did here if you are hosting them yourself. Just pointing to the folder won't make them show up in the thread. They look better this way over doing them as attachments too I think.

Maybe a photo album instead of a sub forum? I think it would be easier to organize and look through that way. Then, in a thread, you could just post a link to that page in the photo album if a certain pic is important to the thread.

Hey if you are ever by the rain forest Snap some pix's. Very few ppl know that the ONLY rain forest in North America is in WA state.

Oooh, cool. Can we have ratings for the pics? One rating for prettiness/quality, and another for how useful it is in determining what an area is like? I like a 1-5 (useless, not very helpful, average, very helpful, tells the story of the town) scale better than a 1-10 scale. Some pics on C-D are clouds, which I wish I could rate a one on the usefulness scale. Other pics you can pretty much tell what the whole town looks like in one pic, and even though they aren't the prettiest of the bunch, I think they deserve the max rating for how useful they are.

Most people think that the entire state of washington is a rain forest! In november Western Washington was! 15" of rain!

As an artist by trade:) I think the beauty of a photo is in the eye of the beholder. The artist themselves would be sensitive to your rating idea. I know I would be. I would be thinking...Oh! I do all the work and you sit on your can and judge it. Rating photos...I don't like it. Sorry. But your photo album was a great idea.:)

Mostly I was thinking a rating would make the pics more searchable, useful when we get a LOT of them (and with my three new 2GB memory cards, we might end up with a LOT of pics of Anchorage! :) ).

admin, if there's only one rating, I vote that it be for the helpfulness of the pic.

I mean, look at this one of Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. If that doesn't tell you what the town looks like, I don't know what will. http://www.city-data.com/picfilesv/picv14315.php

I use photobucket. I upload the photos there from my computer then copy and paste the link and add them to States.
