During his speech, Bush pushed for ethanol. That's great for the corn-belt - but no mention that sugar-cane can be processed for fuel in southern states and that hemp produces much more oil than corn.
However, get a load of this link as it shows what you can do with a little polluted water (we have much) and two-weeks of growing time!!

Seems we should conceiveably be able to power our compacts by simply not cleaning the fish-tank or yard-ponds for a few days, eh?
