What you do for kids

Last night my husband and I slept with our pj's inside out and a spoon underneath our pillows...now get you minds out of the gutter!!!
Apparently our daughter said that if you do this when they are predicting a snow storm, it is a guaranteed snow day from school.
Sad to say it did not work. My question is, has any one done anything silly like this for your kids?? Please someone say yes so my husband and I don't feel like idiots!!!

Re: What you do for kids

Well, my 3 year old hates getting dressed so my hubby will often put her pants or underwear on his head like a hat. He will then act like a cartoon chef and start a silly conversation. She then wants it back and is welling to put them on.

Re: What you do for kids

One year, my youngest two wanted to go trick or treating and they were relentless about it. Trouble was, we were in the middle of a blizzard worse then we'd had in 10 years. So I drove them around trick or treating.

The snow was blowing so bad, you couldn't see the houses. So I'd drive up to where I figured would be about right and they'd jump out and disappear into the snow. About 45 seconds later, they'd get back in the truck. Then I'd drive up to about where I thought the next one was. I'd stop, they'd disappear into the snow and about 45 seconds later, they'd get back in the truck. For two hours I did that. haha Probably not the goofiest thing, but it was certainly the first thing that came to mind.

If as a parent you have not done silly things to make our kids feel better, well, your missing out on a big part of parenting.

This trick you did, I never heard about. Would never happen at my house... I don't wear PJ's. But obvously you did something wrong in your procedure, so you should continue to do this bedtime routine until it works.

I never did that, but I didn't step on any cracks while walking on the sidewalk with my DD.
