If you dont know a user bar is a small signature you can use to promote your hobbies, favorite drink, food, sports team and so on. So I made us a user bar..

Use it on other forums to promote this great site.

OK, dumb question. How do you get it and use it?

Hah, actually not so dumb.

I just realized that one can't use it at CD nor here either.

Images are not allowed in your sig' at either site.

The only way you could do it is to use it as an image in an individual post. You'd have to do it each time you post.

hmmmm, I still might give it a try "over there."

I have signature images disabled. I find them annoying and distracting between posts. Things like that bar are not too bad, but many people feel the need to make them huge, often much bigger than their average post.

eek. flashy, but with that a 20 post thread would easily hit 3-4 pages. what a pain. I agree!

Anyway to get an image into a PM? (other than http link)?

Yes, I agree. Good decision not to allow that.

As you can see, I've been manually adding it to my posts here just to get a feel of seeing it. I've added it to my signature at 3 other boards in which I participate and I'll see about adding it to a few others as well.

Duff, I think the only way you could do it in a PM at another site is if they allow images you could add it as you would any picture. Use Panterro's link to the hosting site.

To add it to your sig' at another site, I think you'd have to transfer the image to your local drive and change it to a jpg or bmp. ...that's what I did anyway and it worked.

I think we can assume that admin drives a bimmer?

Host it somewhere like photobucket and put the http link between [ IMG ] [ /IMG ] tags.

People here already know that you are a talkstates user.

If allowed you can turn the image into a link also like this.

Admin, you could also restrict the sig image size to just 19 pixels by 450 pixels. So you would not have huge annoying sig images, but could have user bars. just an idea.. but then you have to worry about the jackass that post porn images and what not.. so I can see your point.

but yeah I made it more for other forums, im glad you showed how to make it a link... I hope people do that to help drum up more users of this community.
