I'm not sure if I'm ever going to get used to being in a state that's only 60 x 80 miles. It still seems weird. You look on the map and you can actually see yourself moving along. In a state like Idaho or Texas, 1 mm equals about 50 miles so it takes FOREVER to get anywhere. Well, sort of. If you drive the legal Texas speed limit of 90 mph you can get anywhere relatively fast...Anyway, I commute about half way across the state and it only takes me 20 minutes. Okay, I'm exaggerating... But still, 20 miles goes along ways in the puny state. My associate's husband drives 50 miles a day to the SW part of the state every day. Does anyone commute into NYC from CT? Apparently David Letterman lives in Greenwich and commutes into the city. I've often wondered about drivers in this state and how far they think "far" is. Out west, anything less than 100 miles is nothing. Here you can go across three states in 100 miles. Is that a long distance???

interesting perspective... I had no idea how small that state actually is. Since I am from CA and now live in WA...WA feels small to me since I can drive across the state in about 4 hours. In Ca... it takes an over night stay.
