| Moving to Washington DC....?
I will be moving to D.C in a couple of months for a new job. I will be traveling there in a couple of weeks to familiarize myself with the area. Where should I start looking for an apt? Which areas are the best? Which parts are the safest? I just want an affordalbe, safe place to call home. Do you have any suggestions???

Also consider Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania Virginia. Much less expensive than DC and very capable train system traveling throughout the day. Plus there are several carpools. Every place is safe, by the hour. There's no telling when a neighbor in a 'good' community will flip his/her wig and start shooting at people. |

Depends upon just where your job will be located. I would look in Arlington, Alexandria or Falls Church. Expect your apt to cost twice what you're paying now and 1/2 as large. Enjoy; I loved living there. I would suggest using the buses or subway system; the traffic is horrendous.
