Tallahassee Geography

I spent the past week in Tallahassee for work and it was a big change in scenery from other parts of Florida that I have seen. There was actually many hills, red clay soil instead of sand, and lots of very large old trees with spanish moss. It reminded me more of parts of Georgia or the Carolinas than Florida.

Re: Tallahassee Geography

It only makes sense as that area of FL is closer to Georgia than other parts of FL. LOL The Spanish moss it actually really nice in that area isn't it. Defiantly different than the rest of FL as you said. it is a nice change from the norm.

Re: Tallahassee Geography

Tallahassee is only a few hours from where we live...but obviously a huge difference in scenery. The red clay is pretty, but I had my fill of that around Baton Rouge and even Shreveport area. Give me sand any day...even though it's a pain in the bum to vacuum up.

Re: Tallahassee Geography

Question how long would it take to drive from the twin cities to panama city ? I’m guessing it can be done in 2 day’s or 1 day with 2 drivers.

According to Mapquest, it is about 21 hours and 45 minutes straight through. With two drivers, easily one whole day. Panama City is continuously growing and they have a lot of touristy attractions. Same type of white sand and crystal clear water, though!
