Automatic Sprinkler Water

Do some automatic sprinkler systems in Florida recycle drain water or something? Every time the automatic sprinkler system turns on at my condo it smells like they are spraying sewage. I never smelled anything so digusting coming from automatic sprinklers anywhere that I lived in Minnesota.

Sorry, but I couldn't help but laugh at this one. I honestly have no idea about the Florida sprinkler systems in general...we have a lawn pump which doesn't seem to have any foul odor, but then again, I haven't really stuck my nose down by the sprinkler spouts... So I guess in this area a foul odor from them is not apparent...sorry I couldn't give you more info.

You definately don't need to stick your nose down by it here. We are on the 3rd floor and I can't stand to be on the balcony or even have a window open when the sprinklers are on.

I get mostly lowball offers for IT work in Jacksonville, I don't even want to imagine how much less would probably be offered in the panhandle.

Yeah, I guess it is a sulfur smell. I wasn't aware that the ground water here has so much sulfur in it until recently.

Re: Automatic Sprinkler Water

Is it sulfur or more of a rotten egg type smell , the egg smell is from de composing organic material , you can get the egg /sulfur smell up hear in wells drilled to shallow an to close to a swamp/ wetland .it can be treated but its better to just drill deeper .
